**This position will work Friday Sunday days (6am 6pm) with the opportunity to work an additional 4 hours on Monday or Thursday**

Primarily responsible for assistance in daily operations and maintenance of manufacturing equipment/processes for manufacture of night vision image intensifiers.  This is a hands-on engineering technician position.  The individual can expect to spend >80% of their time interacting with the equipment and operators, building/repairing mechanical tooling, and dispositioning non-conforming product.  Other work includes but would not be limited to: optimization of manufacturing processes, implementation of cost reduction opportunities (yield and productivity improvements, waste elimination) and training production employees to improve work processes and product quality.  Generally, individual works to minimize or eliminate safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and production issues.

A successful candidate will have proficiency in the use of hand and machine tools, precision gauges, test instruments, and process equipment and will be able to read, understand, and follow procedures.  Have an understanding and skills in effectively applying Lean and Six Sigma tools to reduce waste and improve efficiency.  Candidate will perform other duties as assigned.

• Associates degree in an Engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, etc.) or related work experience
• 2+ years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment   
• Strong analytical abilities and trouble-shooting techniques
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• PC proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required
• Must have the ability to work effectively within a team
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills are required
• Experience training others
• Ability to obtain Security Clearance
• Must be able to comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, Company Policies and Procedures 
• Able to work an off-shift schedule

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with assembly/review/inspection of mechanical assemblies
• Experience with ultra-high vacuum equipment
• Experience working in cleanroom environments
• Experience writing MS Access queries
• Experience with statistical analysis software:  Minitab, JMP, Cornerstone, etc.
• Experience with coding and scripting development: Visual Studio (VB.net, C#, C+. etc.), Python, JSL (JMP scripting language), or similar
• Experience with process improvement
• Six Sigma certification (Yellow, Green, Black Belt)

Off-shifts are:

• B shift = Monday Thursday nights (6pm 6am)
• C shift = Friday Sunday days (6am 6pm)
• D shift = Friday Sunday nights (6pm 6am)
• 2nd shift = Monday Friday (3pm 11pm)
• 3rd shift = Sunday Friday nights (11pm 7am)
• Engineering schedules can be flexible (i.e. start times/end times are not rigidly held to what is listed above7pm to 7am or 9:30pm to 5:30am or similar may also be acceptable)
