Environmental Conditions

Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cold Room/Freezers -22degrees, Office, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)

Site Inventory Specialist I




Essential Functions:



  • Follow well defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOP's & work instructions. Take direction from Site Supervisor/Manager (and Team Lead) regarding daily duties.

  • Independently makes decisions and applies available resources to meet customer requirements.

  • Analyzes/maintains/reconciles various reports to ensure customer and ULS requirements are met.

  • Shows strength at gathering, presenting and explaining job or site specific performance metrics.

  • Communicates with supervisor any customer issues or potential problems.

  • Promotes personal growth and development by staying abreast of new policies and improvements without the presence of site trainer and management team.

  • Listens to customer concerns, optimally diffuses dissatisfaction, and quickly identifies course of action with a goal of first call resolution within established turnaround times

  • Works effectively with a diverse cross-functional team.

  • Adopts Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies

  • Access & use Thermo Fisher Scientifics' Intranet and SharePoint document management system.

  • Positively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Job-Specific Duties may include:


  • General Customer Service-

  • Stockroom/POU Management

  • Perform on-site program replenishment and disbursements

  • Perform stockroom duties to include receiving, stock rotation, cycle counts, and detrashing

  • Monitor inventory in consignment/customer owned stockroom daily.


Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:



  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.

  • 1-2 years of similar experience.

  • Displays a high level of confidentiality for both customer and Fisher.

  • Must maintain Thermo Fisher Scientifics' Four-I Values.

  • Must possess a High School Diploma.


Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:



  • Possess a strong desire to serve the customer, and the communication skills to work with various levels of personnel at the customer site.

  • Must deliver excellent customer service to include maintaining a professional appearance.

  • Must possess the operating skills to use hand held devices and learn to enter data in various systems as necessary.

  • Able to multi-task and meet objectives.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

  • Able to use a computer and possess intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software.


Working Conditions:


  • Works primarily at customer locations, in office environment to include cubicles and/or in and around shipping/receiving docks, stock rooms, storage locations and laboratory environments.

  • Work independently and/or in a team environment at a customer location.

  • Extensive walking may be required.

  • Able to lift 50lbs. ans/or push and pull 30-40 pounds.

  • Use of material handling equipment such as push carts and pallet jacks.

  • Depending on area of building, personal protective equipment may be worn to include lab coats, coveralls, hood, facemask, hairnets, safety gloves, and safety glasses.

  • Able to work overtime as required.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in laboratory settings or services.

  • Experience in GLP/GMP environments.
