Beacon Hill Financial is working with a growing non-profit in McLean, VA to bring a detail-oriented and motivated Non-Profit Staff Accountant to join their finance team. This is a hybrid role with 3 days on site. The ideal candidate will support the team by ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining financial records, and assisting with budget preparation and monitoring. Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports for management and the Board of Directors.
General Ledger Maintenance:
Manage the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with GAAP and organizational policies.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Oversee the accounts payable process, ensuring timely payment of invoices and proper documentation.
Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing and collections, to maintain cash flow.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget.
Analyze budget variances and provide insights to management.
Audit Support:
Prepare documentation and assist with the annual audit process, including responding to auditor inquiries.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as funding agency requirements.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and improve financial performance.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to enhance operational efficiency.
