As a Technology Summer Intern you will assist in creating, configuring, and implementing technology systems solutions that enhance the functionality, connectivity, and safety of the built environment.

Responsibilities

Technology Summer Interns work as part of a multi-discipline team designing ICT, security and other technology systems during all phases of multiple simultaneous projects. Summer Interns perform assignments under the direct supervision of one or more senior engineers and concentrate on specific design or technical documentation tasks that contribute to overall projects. Assignments will include performing design calculations, preparing reports, and producing deliverable drawing sets including plans, schedules, details, and specifications.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assists to design and specify project-appropriate technology requirements.
  • Coordinates designs with the work of others.
  • Performs Revit modeling and detailing
  • Assists to conduct site investigations and observations.
  • Assists to prepare narratives, reports, hand and computer calculations, drawing and specification documents in accordance with a high degree of quality, yet with regard to project schedule and budget constraints.
  • Assists to perform cross-discipline discussions and coordination.
  • Additional assignments may include attending client and internal meetings, assisting with performing construction contract administration, and assisting with marketing/business development activities.




  • Must be working towards graduation of ABET-accredited degree in Electrical, Architectural, or Telecommunications/Technology Engineering.
  • Knowledge and proficiency with computer software including REVIT.
  • Passion for staying current with emerging technologies and discussing technology trends.
  • Strong graphic, verbal, and written communication skills and knowledge of other building systems.
  • Positive attitude and commitment to being an active participant working as part of a multi-discipline team.
  • Active involvement and demonstrated leadership skills in extracurricular activities on campus and in the community.
