Wound Care Nurse key responsibilities:


  • Assessing and monitoring wounds

  • Cleaning and bandaging wounds

  • Creating, updating, and managing care plans

  • Performing specialized procedures (e.g., removing dead tissue/debridement, cleaning wounds, and bandaging)

  • Working collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to determine if additional treatments or changes in care are required

  • Educating staff nurses on wound care protocols

  • Providing direct care

  • Educating patients, families, and nurses

  • Managing wound care programs

Qualifications:


  • Current LPN/RN license issued by the State Board of Nursing

  • Minimum of two years of wound care experience.

  • Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facilities preferred
