Summary:


This position is located at our corporate office in Raleigh, NC. We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented accounting manager with the ability to thrive in our fast paced, growing organization. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the accounting support and staff for regional operations. This individual must be able to identify and resolve problems both independently and as a part of a team. Effective verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization along with strong organizational and time management ability are also required.


Responsibilities:


  • Manage the accounting support and staff for regional operations.

  • Assist in managing the month-end close process.

  • Work closely with regional management on analysis of operating results.

  • Support regional finance with forecasting and budgeting.

  • Prepare timely and accurate management reporting.

  • Prepare and review account reconciliations, ensuring adherence to strong procedures and documentation.

  • Perform and review standard and ad-hoc analysis.

  • Evaluate and recommend new approaches and procedures that result in process improvements and efficiencies.

  • Manage support related to internal and external audit requests.

  • Acquire a strong knowledge of the business.

  • Document and maintain account procedures and processes.

  • Monitor compliance with policies and procedures.



Requirements:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting; CPA required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience with a minimum of 3 years of public accounting experience with a regional or national firm.

  • Prior manager experience required.

  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Must be a self-starter and a quick learner who can work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.

  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel; JD Edwards skills desirable.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

  • Detail-oriented with an ability to identify and resolve problems both independently and as part of a team.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization.

  • Strong organizational and time management ability.

  • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on capacity.

  • Manufacturing or construction and inventory accounting experience a plus.

  • Ability to travel on occasion (< 5%).
