Two Six Technologies is looking for an IT Systems Engineer to work in a fast paced, research driven organization. The ideal candidate will provide resources in the disciplines of networking, data center operations, servers and services, remote access, virtualization, and inventory and records management.Responsibilities Include:
Planning and executing the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all data center infrastructure.
Planning and executing the development of new infrastructure plans, upgrade planning, and other future system designs as needed to support the enterprise.
Monitoring, analyzing, and resolving hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion
Able to work and problem solve independently, with the awareness to escalate problems, as needed, to avoid productivity delays.
Attention to detail, ability to follow specific instructions to complete some tasks.
Works in close cooperation with Security, Facilities, and Operations teams.
Maintain documentation of systems, problem resolutions, and instructions.
Minimum Qualifications:
2+ years of experience working with systems in a data center environment: Servers, Racks, Cable Management, etc.
2+ years of experience working in a linux command line environment
Experience deploying and maintaining network infrastructure services: DNS, DHCP, etc.
Experience with virtualization: hypervisors, VMs, LXC, Docker, etc.
Familiar with Fortigate or comparable firewall and security devices.
Familiarity with data storage methods and techniques including redundant systems such as RAID or a Storage Area Network.
Experience designing and maintaining corporate VPN solutions
Experience with network device OS's such as Cisco IOS and similar, Netgear, Ubiquiti, and others.
Nice If You Have:
Familiar with Proxmox Virtual Environment (PVE) and Proxmox Backup Server (PBS)
Interest in keeping abreast of emerging technologies and/or better ways to "build things"
Ability to simplify complex systems and describe via diagrams and/or written text.
