There is an opportunity for an EH&S Manager working with the Altec Service Group. With a team of professionals and support from leadership, you will have the tools and network to succeed in the role. Birmingham, AL is the preferred location, however we are open to all Altec locations as this role supports Service across the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A four-year bachelor's degree is required; Engineering or Occupational Safety preferred

  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience, with minimum of two (2) years at the Supervisor or higher level

  • Must be willing to travel up to 35% of the time

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other office management applications

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the facilities, environmental and safety arena

  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships


The job level can be adjusted at the time of hire if the candidate meets the qualifications for jobs of a more experienced level in the career path.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Ensure the Altec Service Group complies with all current environmental and safety regulations. Ensures buildings and teams meet health and safety requirements.

  • Manage and coordinate all environmental health and safety programs

  • Implement procedures for proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain MSDS system

  • Provide guidance and direction in EHS programs for all associates to ensure a common and effective approach

  • Review accidents and incidents to help determine root cause and provide effective countermeasures

  • Manage team of professionals with responsibility for professional development, conducting performance reviews and making recommendations for salary adjustments and promotions

  • Willingness to work outside standard business hours to resolve issues, complete projects or respond to emergency situations as needed
