The IT Specialist III is responsible for coordination and execution of multi-tier technical support services to users of company’s personal computers via desk side and remote support. This position responds to user problems, both software and hardware applications, performs installations, modifications and repairs on PC’s and peripheral devices. This role will also install software upgrades when required and run diagnostics on computer hardware. The IT Specialist III may be responsible for tracking hardware and software inventory and providing user training on the use of standard software.
What the Candidate Will Do
Assist staff with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment, and software
Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software
Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems, including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers, and administrative systems
New hire setups and terminations
Organize / Configure equipment
Asset Management of hardware deployed in production
Document and report troubled issues and escalate to the appropriate team
Resolves configuration issues the desktop
Administrate software installations/upgrades through SCCM
Administrate management systems
Assists in planning and implementation of projects / new technologies
Team lead of the site while implementing best efforts to increase the effectiveness of the department
Accountable for resolving difficult problems/back-end support issues
Fixes issues with the desktop environment management systems AD/Group Policy/SCCM/O365
Create and monitor TMS, IT tickets and CR's
Recommend changes to processes or guidelines for the purpose of improvement
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent
2-3 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science
5+ years of experience in the IT field; experience supporting Windows’s desktop/laptop P/C’s
Experience troubleshooting hardware issues and replacing hardware on both desktop and laptop PCs
Experience installing software, patches, updates on Desktops, Laptops, Servers
