The safety consultant applies their risk management expertise to promote and improve clients' safety culture through on-site safety inspections, written safety programs and safety training presentations. They work directly with clients to assess and mitigate their safety risks and exposure through preventative, proactive policies and procedures.
SAFETY
Provides safety consultation for assigned clients
Conducts on-site safety inspections at various client locations
Conducts periodic safety training in areas of proficiency as requested by clients and producers
Prepares and submits activity reports in agency management system
Assists with OSHA compliance
Updates and informs production team with timely information regarding client service
Attends risk management, quality assurance and safety meetings
Reviews and develops written safety programs for various operations related to client
Provides risk management services and marketing information to potential and current clients
Executes proposals for assigned clients for safety services to assist with achieving department revenue goals
Provides services that are credibly calculated to increase client value
EXECUTION OF CLIENT SERVICE
Works with Producer and/or Account Executives, service team, carriers and other internal departments to plan, execute and track customized service strategy for each client, designed to create measurable value and efficiencies in their businesses
Advises the creation of proposals to support clients in making decisions about safety services
Builds personalized client relationships through demonstrated ownership of the service plan and multiple channels of communication such as phone, email and in-person meetings
Consults with and enacts client decisions on access to portal by their staff
Leverages insurance knowledge and communication skills to explain coverage terms and other items to clients as needed
Works with internal departments to ensure cohesiveness and timeliness of service execution and creates report of service plan execution through commitment report
Takes an enterprise-wide approach to client service by collaborating with other service teams to create a cohesive client service experience
Manages time effectively to prioritize workload, client service requests and service parameters on business processes
Proactively communicates with clients regarding safety related matters and communicates important issues back to Producers and/or Account Executives
DATA AND PROCESS INTEGRITY
Consistently follows service workflows and appropriately engages internal resources such as process support team, procedure manuals and reporting tools to ensure efficiency and accuracy of execution
Accurately maintains complete client files including clear documentation of account detail in agency management systems including activities and attachments
Achieves desired levels of data completeness and process integrity by consistently meeting activity timelines, quality metrics and goals
PEER RELATIONSHIPS
Provides updates and communicates issues to service team regarding account renewals, service needs and service platform
Assists with requests from other Safety team members as needed
Communicates effectively with team members and provides timely and complete information to allow them to establish positive client relationships and efficiently manage their processes and workload
Develops successful and effective working relationships with Producers, Account Executives, service team members, managers, carriers and members of other departments
REQUIRED:
Upon hire, Producers License for Fire/Casualty or Life/Health, as appropriate for role
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to travel 75% of the time
Home office work area and high speed internet capability
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong presentation skills
PREFERRED:
2+ years of safety related experience
BS in Occupational Safety, Industrial Technology or related discipline
ARM, ASP or CSP designations or working towards the same
Bilingual in English and Spanish
