Job Description:

The Student Conduct Coordinator member of the Residence Life team reporting to the Assistant Director of Conduct, Crisis, and Care. This position is responsible for managing and adjudicating housing and residence life conduct cases. This position emphasizes educational programming that promotes community standards and student development. The Student Conduct Coordinator will work closely with Residence Life staff, to foster a safe, inclusive, and educational living environment for all students.


Duties:



  • Responsible for the day-to-day triaging and processing of student conduct referrals, monitoring for timely case resolution, and auditing of sanction completion.

  • Serves as a student conduct hearing officer and ensures student conduct cases are adjudicated and resolved per established procedures.  

  • Provides oversight and support to Residence Life staff assigned to perform student conduct related work.

  • Supports the development and facilitation of training for Residence Life full time, graduate, and undergraduate staff as it relates to their responsibilities in responding to student conduct-related matters and/or as conduct case administrators. 

  • Supports the maintenance of the student conduct database (Maxient) by performing regular audits and updates.

  • Directly supervises graduate assistant assigned to Residence Life conduct.

  • Is a liaison to the Office of Student Conduct Office. 

  • Supports the development and facilitation of student conduct educational initiatives, including but not limited to, creation of promotional materials/content, creation of resource guides, facilitation of workshops and presentations, and coordination of student outreach events.

  • Assess the needs of students and helps to develop and implement targeted programs and services.

  • Research, collect, and analyze data or information and prepare reports for housing and residence life and campus stakeholders.

  • Serves on departmental committees

  • Promotes and assists with the overall programming and educational efforts of the department of Housing and Residence Life.

  • Establishes and maintains collaborative and effective working relationships with campus partners.

  • Supports programs, events and initiatives coordinated by the office of Student Conduct.

  • Serve as a resource for students, providing guidance and support related to conduct issues and conflict resolution.

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree, AND: 



  • 12 months in student programming, student services, or closely related experience.


Equivalency/ Substitution:  Will accept 48 months of equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree for a total of 60 months experience.


 


Skills:





  • Computer proficiency, including working knowledge of work processing, spreadsheets and database software

  • Reads and interprets routine written materials, instructions and e-mails.




  • Communicates effectively; orally and/or in writing. 



  • Demonstrated knowledge of student success strategies 

  • Demonstrated ability to professionally interact and relate to individuals with diverse backgrounds, including the ability to effectively resolve complex or sensitive matters


Certifications or Licenses:



  • Valid Driver's License.  Employees who drive any university vehicle or their own personal vehicle while performing an assigned duty by his/her supervisor must have a valid driver's license. It is the employee's responsibility to tell his/her supervisor if the license is invalid, or that you do not have one, and explain they cannot drive. 

Departmental Preference:



  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Personnel Services or related field.

  • 24 months in student conduct, residence life, student services, or related position at a Higher Education institution 

  • Demonstrated experience with crisis management and/or emergency response.

  • Knowledge of Roompact, StarRez and Maxient software, or similar tools

  • Must be 18 years or older.

  • Must submit to a background check.

  • Felony conviction for ANY of the following: drug distribution, sexual offenses (such as, but not limited to, rape or molestation), violence (including, but not limited to, weapons charges, assault, domestic abuse, etc.) or theft may preclude eligibility for hire. 

  • Regular exposure to meet productivity standards; may be required to bend, left, stoop, carry and be exposed to temperature changes.

  • Ability to engage in repetitive motion and communicate effectively.

  • If you are selected as the final candidate for this position, you will be required to live in a provided fully-furnished apartment.


Supervision:



  • Supervises graduate assistant assigned to Residence Life conduct.
