TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Software Test Engineer II join our team in San Diego, California.
Job Summary: The Software Test Engineer II will assist in the development and implementation of thorough, clear, concise test plans/procedures, taking into consideration the requirements and testing objectives, for various customer-witnessed demonstrations including System Integration Tests and System Acceptance Tests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including managers, developers, testers, product managers, business analysts, and customers/users, throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle to ensure smooth project execution.
Gain a comprehensive understanding of the functionality and objectives of the target software.
Create test conditions and test cases based on project requirements and design documentation.
Conduct manual system testing according to test cases/plans and procedures.
Write and manage hardware and software defect reports using Azure DevOps or Jira.
Assist in the development and implementation of thorough, clear, concise test plans/procedures, ensuring they meet the requirements and testing objectives for customer-witnessed demonstrations, including System Integration Tests and System Acceptance Tests.
Participate in customer-witnessed demonstrations.
Education: Associate degree in computer related or other technical field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Required Skills & Experience:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical hardware/software requirements and design documents.
Strong experience in generating test cases based on business and functional requirements as well as design documentation.
Ability to identify and write test cases and test documentation.
Capability to create and execute a logical sequence of test steps to validate hardware/software system functionality.
Proficient experience in using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or other relevant frameworks is a plus.
Extensive experience with SQL database queries.
Familiarity with defect tracking tools like Azure DevOps or Jira.
Strong judgment skills to assess high-risk areas of an application for focused testing efforts when time is limited.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and manage flexible working methods and schedules.
Ability to balance attention to detail with aggressive project delivery schedules.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical (developers) and non-technical (customers, management) individuals.

Salary Range: Up to $110k annually, based upon experience
