This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of skilled and semi-skilled building maintenance and repairs, and landscaping tasks, while maintaining a safe work environment, and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.


JOB SUMMARY:


The Grounds Keeper is responsible for the general maintenance and appearance of the property surrounding the buildings at this facility.


DUTIES:


Pick up trash, Empty trash receptacles, Mow grass, Perform routine maintenance on mowers and other lawn equipment, Rake leaves, Trim hedges, Maintain shrubbery, Plant flowers, Trim trees, Sidewalk snow removal, Salt sidewalks, when necessary, Perform general maintenance on grounds equipment, Able to use basic yard tools and lawn equipment (mower, hedge trimmer, weed wacker, leaf vac, leaf blower), Assist Environmental Manager with spill kit and stormwater inspections, Cleanout stormwater inlets; change filter devices, Assist with loading/ unloading of waste oil and empty containers, Assist Safety Manager with fire extinguisher inspections.


Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:


Must be motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Must be flexible and able to manage multiple tasks. Must have current PA. driver's license. Mechanical background helpful.


Must be able to perform the essential job functions. Must be willing to work from Monday thru Friday, weekend work may be required.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


Able to tolerate exposure to various outdoor weather conditions. Able to wear required steel toe boots and other required PPE. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. periodically. Must be physically fit for a variety of physically demanding tasks. Willing and able to use various types of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).


12 months of continuous employment with a single employer within the last 36 months or completion and verifiable formal schooling in a specific trade.



Rehire Consideration:

• Max of two previous Tyson employments to be considered for hire.


• 180 days (6 months) waiting period.
