Position Overview


This position will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of a project or projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals. Including responsibility for maintenance and repairs of the Ready Mix facilities


Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Maintain daily control of project(s): management and coordination of onsite personnel, equipment operations and subcontractor activities.
  • Ensure all operations are in full compliance with Federal/State/Local Regulations.
  • Read and comprehend project specifications.
  • Must have a good understanding of construction methods, materials and blue print reading.
  • Must be knowledgeable with survey and project layout.
  • Perform monthly survey audits for inventory purposes.
  • Accurate pricing of products based on given cost factors.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates using historical data and productivity modules.
  • Assist Operations with tracking project costs and revenues.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors, subcontractors, general contractors, as well as, customers/owners representatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and operating guidelines.
  • Oversee and direct all project personnel.
  • Accurate and timely preparation of project schedules, timecards, equipment hours, production reports and purchase orders.
  • Daily communications with the stakeholders regarding project status.
  • Monitor project costs and revenues by reviewing internal project reports and meeting frequently with the customer/owner representatives on pay quantities prior to each estimate.
  • Optimize project efficiencies in transportation, materials and productivity rates.
  • Assist in dealing with employee issues and subcontractor/vendor performance issues.
  • Ability to resolve problems and make project decisions that maximize project opportunities.
  • Display strong leadership & teamwork skills.
  • Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.
  • Coordinate plant projects and shutdowns.
  • Provide technical expertise to assist all plant operations.
  • Plan and manage communication regarding planned maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance related problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Hire, develop, engage, and retain a competent and reliable maintenance team.
  • Manage the allocation of mechanical and electrical maintenance resources and maintenance budget to provide an efficient and cost-effective operation.
  • Ensures plant and mobile equipment is kept in good and safe working condition to maximize asset throughput.
  • Oversee maintenance planning, staffing, and working operations in a cost-effective manner.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.


Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Plant Maintenance
  • Must have supervisory experience and willingness to train/mentor others
Work Requirements
  • Must be 18 years in age or older.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position is: Face Shield, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, and Coveralls.
  • Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations.


Knowledge/Skill Requirements
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in plant maintenance.
  • Ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
  • Ability to work well and efficiently with others.

  • Climbing steps to office trailers or box trailers.
  • Utilizing office equipment while sitting.
  • Alternating frequently between sitting, standing, walking and climbing
  • Maintaining mental alertness at all times to ensure safety of all employees for whom the individual is responsible.
  • Must be able to exert 10-20 lbs. constantly to move objects, 25-50 lbs. of force frequently, and 50-100 lbs. of force occasionally.

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock or burn.
  • The noise level in some areas of the work environment may be loud, but is typically moderate.
