POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Human Resources Clerk provides administrative support to the HR department by assisting with personnel tasks, maintaining employee records, and responding to inquiries from employees and the public. This is an entry-level position with responsibilities that will include: Assisting with onboarding and orientation of new employees; Processing and maintaining employee records, including updating personal information and tracking benefits enrollment; Creating and maintaining employee files and ensuring confidentiality in handling sensitive information; Maintaining and updating HR databases and reports; Scheduling and coordinating meetings, interviews, and appointments. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive, but to provide a general understanding of the position.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma/GED required
  • 1-2 years of administrative support experience; HR experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of HR functions and policies
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Must possess a valid driver’s license. Applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical requirements for an HR clerk will include: Sitting for long periods: Much of the work is done at a desk using a computer; Intermittent standing and walking: Moving around the office to file documents or attend meetings; Using hands and fingers: Handling office equipment and typing; Reaching with hands and arms: accessing files and office supplies; occasional bending, stooping, squatting, or kneeling to retrieve items from lower shelves or drawers.
