The Regional Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs and initiatives to ensure a safe working environment across multiple locations within the region. This role involves collaboration with various departments, enforcement of safety policies, and proactive measures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Safety Program Development:
Design and implement safety programs and initiatives tailored to regional needs.
Regularly review and update safety policies and procedures in alignment with Andritz standards and regulatory requirements.
Assist in the implementation of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety legislation and industry best practices.
Risk Management:
Conduct risk assessments and safety audits across regional facilities.
Identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
Investigate accidents and incidents, conducting root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions.
Training and Development:
Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, supervisors, and management.
Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement within the organization.
Incident Management:
Respond to safety incidents and emergencies, coordinating with internal and external resources as necessary.
Oversee the documentation and reporting of incidents and accidents.
Safety Culture Promotion:
Foster a positive safety culture through leadership, communication, and engagement.
Encourage employee participation in safety programs and initiatives.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain accurate and detailed records of safety inspections, incidents, and training.
Prepare and present regular safety performance reports to senior management.
Collaboration:
Work closely with regional and corporate teams to align safety strategies with organizational goals.
Serve as a safety liaison for regulatory agencies and insurance providers.
Assist and support the region with environmental compliance

Resolve issues with colleagues and other business organizations in a way that appears seamless to the customer

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CSP) are highly desirable.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
Proven experience in developing and implementing safety programs and training
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to travel domestically 50%
Experience in implementing a behavior-based safety program
Experience in implementing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
