Your Role:



In this Manufacturing Engineer role, you will be responsible for the overall efficient design of manufacturing processes - including equipment utilization, process excellence and expanded future automation. This role maximizes efficiency through continuous improvement by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. The Engineer determines parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification. You will be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the Biotechnology field. You must be able to perform a variety of tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.


Responsibilities:


  • Design, assemble, test, and validate new automation

  • Authors validation protocols and equipment SOP, as required

  • Execution of Engineering/Automation Roadmap

  • Support and execution of NPI projects

  • Support and execution of engineering requests

  • Execution of equipment safety initiatives (Machine guarding audits and corrective actions)

  • Participates on team to development of URS for equipment

  • Appling statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards.

  • Improving manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.

  • Working with suppliers, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status.

  • Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computer.

  • Providing training to other workers who are in the production department of the organization.

  • Research and create new methods of manufacturing processes to achieve maximum production capacity and efficiency - including future automation

  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment

  • Recommend PM program improvements


Who You Are:




Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, etc.)

  • 3+ years' experience in a Biotech or Manufacturing Lab environment


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Understanding of Operations processes and procedures within the Biotech industry

  • Knowledge of OEE and TEEP principles

  • Experience with CMMS systems

  • Experience with automation PLC

  • Familiarity with various QA requirements, such as ISO9001, cGMP and ISO13485

  • Knowledge of ERP systems, such as Oracle / SAP considered

  • Proficient with MS Office modules (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)

  • Proficient with 2D / 3D drawing software such as AutoCAD

  • Ability to work in a team and matrix environment

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects under multiple disciplines

  • Ability to manage both internal and external collaborations

  • Exposure to LIMS / MES



Pay Range for this position - $49,500 - $148,900
