JOB DESCRIPTION

Resideo is currently seeking a Electrical Hardware Engineer I to design and develop thermostats and other related smart home IoT products. This role requires some prior experience with microcontroller and microprocessor designs, digital circuits, and some RF experience. You will be involved in the entire NPI (New Product Introduction) design process, from researching new technology, developing proof-of-concepts, creating schematics, building prototypes, testing, validating, and launching products into high-volume mass production. In addition to general engineering, this position is intending to have a portion of their workload specifically to doing PCB layout (ECAD).

Job Duties


  • NPI Project Hardware Design: Lead or participate in NPI project hardware design, including schematic design, PCB layout, BOM release, prototype build, debugging, engineering testing, and QA & Agency support.
  • PCB layout: develop PCB layouts, collaborate with mechanical engineers and floor-plan circuits and the size of a new PCB, understand and help improve PCB DFM rules.
  • Testing and Validation: Lead and direct test technicians in performing testing, collecting data, and validating electrical designs.
  • Global Collaboration: Engage in conference meetings with global teams, including project leaders and cross-functional teams, to coordinate project progress.
  • Documentation: Ensure thorough documentation of designs, processes, and test results to maintain clear communication and traceability.
  • Technology Research: Stay updated with the latest advancements in technology and incorporate innovative solutions into product designs.


You Must Have


  • Major in EE or related disciplines
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other technical discipline

  • EDA Tools Proficiency: Familiarity with one or more ECAD tool such as Mentor, Cadence, Altium, etc...
