Sr. Specialist, Architectural Planning at Best Buy

Job Description:

As a Senior Specialist for the Architectural Planning team, you are directly responsible for creating and maintaining floor plans and construction documents of the highest quality to meet BBY standards, local code compliance, and to be fully coordinated and current in a timely and concise manner across multiple outside consultants and internal stakeholders. Senior Specialist's role is to understand and enforce Best Buy's standards, prototypical layouts, and site-specific documents to translate the business/merchant strategy into the development of project specific plans. The role is responsible for coordinating between Best Buy's internal documentation which serve to meet and maintain the needs of the business on a site-specific basis and external documentation which react to localized site conditions, building codes and other challenges that have space impact that arise during development or deployment of any physical Best Buy building project. This role communicates and coordinates with consultants regarding requirements and any known or upcoming business changes. This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work core hours on-site at the Best Buy Corporate office three days a week and virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location the remainder. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process. What you'll do<ul><li>Collaborate across multiple stakeholders translating design directives and merchant strategy into site-specific solutions to provide best value for the overall project. </li><li>Work closely with Architectural Planning Managers to understand requirements for development of floor plans, technical details, and unique code and/or lease requirements, that creates creative and consistent solutions necessary to meet any unique needs of the project.</li><li>Communicate and coordinate with consultants regarding requirements or any upcoming business changes. </li><li>Integrate and support the goal of "team" spirit throughout the Store Experience Design Department. </li><li>Partners closely utilizing a service mindset with the Space Management team to ensure proper milestones and targets around product assortment, adjacencies and plan turnover expectations are delivered site by site.</li></ul>Basic qualifications<ul><li>3 or more years of design, planning, architectural, engineering leadership, deploying design and/or production of design elements/materials while working with cross functional groups.</li><li>3 or more years Demonstrated ability to build & develop drawings using AutoCAD</li></ul>Preferred qualifications<ul><li>Bachelors' Degree or equivalent relevant professional experience</li><li>3 or more years of retail experience, working with cross functional store leadership and delivering solutions to improve /fuel overall customer experience, customer retention and customer growth.</li><li>Proficient in Revit, Bluebeam Revu, Sketchup and Photoshop.</li></ul>What's in it for you We're committed to helping our people thrive at work and at home.
