Job Summary

Reporting to the Director/Manager of the Portfolio Management Office, the Finance Analyst, IT Portfolio Office supports IT through leading and supporting portfolio financial invoice management and budget deliverables, department metrics & reporting, internal project audits and standard, and ongoing process improvement work.

The Finance Analyst, IT Portfolio Office will take a lead role in creating data analytics and executive presentations to support project and department reporting and budgeting.

Key Responsibilities/Duties - what you will be doing

Financial Management:


  • Maintain oversight of the project portfolio and associated departments for budget tracking, funding, and cap/ops spend through with Accounting and FP&A

  • Create and manage project level financial invoice processing and reporting in the enterprise financial system(s).

  • Budget tracking and forecasting for all IT cost center projects and provide regular status reports for the PMs and Finance Team.

  • Support tracking of project accruals, and provide monthly accrual report to the FP&A Office.

  • Manage FP&A submission process for funding and other project related changes

  • Support monthly financial audits in partnership with Project Managers and Finance team, submit status reports and true-up GL with FP&A.

  • Manage the tracking, reporting, and review of project and department budgets.

  • Compile and distribute monthly budget forecasts and review any areas of higher than expected spend.

  • Track and resolve issues related to IT invoices that are unallocated or misapplied.

  • Work with IT counterparts to address project funding questions and ensure SOWs and COs are processed correctly and process PRs to correctly align with project spend

  • Ensure Project Cost Plans and Budget Plans in PPM system align with Financial system budgets.

Metric Development & Collection:


  • Support regular reporting to IT leadership on financial activities

  • Work closely with IT leadership on measuring and analyzing project, program, and department performance

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret both qualitative and quantitative data and perform analytical and root cause analyses

  • Assist in measuring the overall performance of IT critical operating performance metrics

Qualifications - what you need to perform the job

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information System, or related fields; MBA preferred
Broad knowledge of/experience within the health insurance industry
Expertise in finance, budgeting, planning, and the development of business analysis and reporting
Strong analytic skills: Ability to extract and integrate data from various platforms or sources
Ability to synthesize information and develop insights
Proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment
Superior communication skills (verbal and written)
Strong technical aptitude to support financial management system / tools
