Role Description



Position Purpose


  • To develop and lead the medical oncology strategy for both Rx and Dx therapeutic areas.

  • Responsible for providing best in class support for VMRD, GCD and commercial colleagues, leading a cross functional team.

  • Be the global medical face of our oncology program both internally to stake holders and senior leaders and externally to global groups of veterinary oncologists, general practitioners and the industry and large.

  • Together with the other GMA leaders, VMRD, GCD and the markets ensure our scientific activities create and deliver unparalleled value to our customers and therefore become a major differentiator, create competitive advantage and contribute to the growth objectives of Zoetis' CA oncology category.

  • Drive global technical excellence in CA oncology clinical studies, medical education and all commercial messaging and with the objective to deliver on the Customer Experience vision to give customers confidence that they're making the right decision for the animals and their business with our experience and expert guidance, backed by science, across the Continuum of Care.



Primary Responsibilities

  • Set and lead our medical oncology strategy in collaboration with VMRD, GCD and commercial leadership

  • In collaboration with VMRD, GCD and commercial leadership identify, prioritize and help execute an annual program of clinical studies / initiatives to create high impact value messages for key and future brands

  • Plan, implement and coordinate above-market KOL management plans (incl. clinical activities and study grants) for category

  • Lead global representation and messaging strategy to external scientific and clinical stakeholders (e.g. universities) and at international congresses/fairs

  • Plan and coordinate field observation projects to increase understanding and effective use of existing portfolio products & solutions together with customers

  • Develop and execute medical strategies and tactics to support market growth objectives by leveraging VET OPs expertise enhancing customer experience

  • Deliver and present findings, actionable insights and recommendations to Commercial Leadership

  • Contribute to above-market digital strategy & management for category.

  • Coordinate needs / input of global markets for phase 3 and phase 4 projects for category.

Education and Experience



Level of education and qualification:



  • Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD or equivalent degree) required

  • Board Certified in Clinical Oncology by the ACVIM or ECVIM required




Professional experience/capabilities:



  • At least 5 years of clinical experience in Medical Oncology.

  • Broad industry experience and proven leadership

  • Experience leading large scale complex projects and managing / influencing teams in diverse locations

  • Operating budget management skills

  • Experience working with, leading or influencing cross-functional teams in developing and executing technical strategies, programs and/or tactics.

  • Proven track-record of leading teams through transformation and having instilled a strong culture of performance and enthusiasm, even in difficult times.

  • Demonstrated track-record of operational excellence with a sharp sense of vision that translates into an ability to identify new opportunities

  • Experience in managing relations with a wide diversity of stakeholders including (but not limited to) Technical leaders, Enabling and Global functions, customers and senior leaders

  • Other specific know-how: Good knowledge of Word, Excel, Power point. Basics of clinical studies conduct and evaluation of scientific publications.



Languages: Fluency in spoken and written English are a must, mastering other languages is a plus.
