Job Description:

Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 hour shift (Overtime as needed)
Location: Crawfordsville, IN

As a Quality Control Inspector 2, you will:


  • Perform inspections to assure quality standards are met as assigned.
  • Collect and record inspection data per procedures.
  • Escalate all quality issues identified in the production process to appropriate personnel for resolution. (May include customer identified requirements during the production start-up and approval process and working with manufacturing personnel to resolve issues prior to production.)
  • Perform activities to process defective materials identified through inspection processes according to procedures. (May include inquiries into the manufacturing process to identify causes of non-conforming product, process capability failure or errors in the process and actions to correct.)
  • Contribute to the development of instructions and procedures. (May include details regarding customer expectations of process quality and acceptable performance standards. Ensure the proper documentation is in place and followed.)
  • Offer suggestions to improve processes, and participate in special improvement projects as assigned.
  • Participate as a team member in Continuous Improvement events, utilizing A3, 8D, PDCA problem solving.
  • Lead and direct quality-related root cause analysis and process troubleshooting.
  • Color management knowledge a plus.
  • Ability to consult with Customer Service on file design and offer recommendations as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of relevant administrative/operational support in manufacturing operations or office environment directly related to the duties of the job, OR 2-4 year college/tech school or trade school equivalent experience preferred.
  • Able to consistently apply applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and program objectives when carrying out the duties of the job.
  • May provide oversight of work conducted by others and/or review/audit work for accuracy.
  • Must have intermediate knowledge of technology to include computers and software programs such as MS Office or MAC word processing, spreadsheets or other programs specific to the job in order to complete job duties successfully.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to work effectively across multiple departments.
  • Must have strong organizational skills with ability to manage deadlines and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use basic measurement and quality related tools such as a tape measure, line gauge, calibers, etc.
  • Ability to work daily/weekly overtime and weekends, when needed. Possible 5% travel for customer visits, on-site inspection, or other necessary quality functions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • ASQ certification a plus.
