About the Position

We are seeking an experienced and successful Environmental Compliance Lead for P3/Design-Build projects who will assist in developing environmental consulting services for standard delivery and/or local government transportation Engineering Design projects.

This is a long term, full-time, onsite position located in Atlanta, GA.

Responsibilities

  • Periodically audit the Developer against the Comprehensive Environmental Protection Plan.
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings to maintain familiarity with the active construction areas.
  • Attend Environmental Meetings, as needed.
  • Perform periodic or risk-based site audits, across all active construction areas, sensitive and risk areas, such as Buffer and Wetland Conditions, against the CEPP and Erosion, Environmental Compliance Reports, and Sedimentation and Pollution Control (ES&PC) Plan.
  • Tack and audit the documentation of the Monthly/Weekly/Daily Environmental Compliance Report correction of documentation, or close-out of any self-reporting.
  • Verification of Developer's implementation of their Hazardous Material Management Plan.
  • Verification of Developer's compliance with environmental permits.
  • As directed by Environmental OV Manager, prepare, and maintain internal reporting forms of environmental field activities, observations, and testing results on construction projects, and the Developer's conformance with (or deviation from) project plans and specifications.
  • Review and comment on the Developer's provided Environmental Monitoring Reports with the Developer's Monthly Performance Report, summarizing any environmental compliance events and remediation requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with all applicable federal, State and local permit conditions, as well as environmental commitments listed under TP 5.
  • Proactively consider any construction activities that may pose potential non-compliance issues in the future and work with the ECM to put controls in place.
  • Oversees and verifies implementation of erosion control measures and NOI compliance.
  • Oversees Developer compliance with environmental permits.

Skills and Attributes

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate, collaborate, and relate information to decision makers, internal, and external customers.
  • Utilizes considerable latitude for independent judgment and action within established guidelines.
  • Utilizes both quantitative and qualitative analysis skills in the execution of duties/responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Ecology or related field OR equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • 5+ years direct experience working on the GDOT MMIP program, other large P3 programs or large GDOT transportation projects.
  • Collaborative experience with diverse teams in post-contract award phase providing project/program oversight for environmental compliance and environmental submittal reviews.
  • Experience coordinating with federal, state, local partners to expedite the required project environmental approvals and permits.
  • Excellent utilization with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on GDOT MMIP P3 project, other P3 projects or large ($100 + Million) transportation construction projects; providing environmental compliance.
  • Experience with project and construction management software (e.g., Bluebeam and e-Builder).

Compensation Details

The salary range listed for this role is $110,000 to $120,000 annually. The final salary offered is based on multiple factors and is thoughtfully aligned with each candidates level of experience, breadth of skills, total education achieved, certifications/licenses that have been obtained, etc. #LI-DNI
