Examples of Work



The Program Coordinator for School Based Services(SBS) will provide oversight and management of the vendor contract for SBS. This includes:




  • Providing training and technical assistance to the school districts, extensive audits of the Random Moment Time Study results submitted by school districts, entering payments in OnBase for school districts, entering payment to the vendor for deliverables, developing corrective action plans for school districts and the vendor when necessary, and monitoring overall program budget and allocations of funds through ongoing review of accounting documents and audits. The audits are completed quarterly and are very extensive to ensure compliance with federal guidelines for school based services.

  • Reviews and prepares written and/or oral summaries on state and federal legislation.

  • Responds to information requests from the public, federal and state agencies.

  • Provides liaison between and confers with various federal and state authorities, policy review staff and school leaders.

  • Responds to information requests from the public, federal and state agencies.

  • Responsible for maintaining a positive relationship with the Nebraska Department of Education.

  • Writes program policies and procedures consistent with state and federal guidelines.

  • Responsible for continuous development of the program, which includes active participation in state and national work groups that further Medicaid in Public Schools and expansion of services in Public Schools.




Requirements/ Qualifications




Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, social/behavioral sciences, health sciences, public health, education, law or related field OR experience in the development of operational policies and procedures, performing quality assurance analysis/evaluation of programs; grant writing, contract management, or leading community based health/social care groups. Related coursework, training and/or education may substitute for the Bachelor's degree on a year-for year basis.



Other: Must possess a valid Nebraska Driver's License.



Knowledge / Skills / Abilities



Knowledge of: basic accounting and business administration which can include billing, payments, accounting spreadsheets, etc.; social work and management theory; the structure of organizations; state, local and federal laws and programs relating to social service programs; available funding sources. Basic knowledge of Nebraska's public school system and Educational Service Units.


Ability to: relate well with a diverse number of individuals or organizations; promote school based services and work with district staff and administrators, analyze school district needs and recommend actions/programs to achieve desired results; work with people in a variety of roles (leadership, cooperation, education, networking); work with vendors to ensure services are provided appropriately; manage the school based services contract; complete random quality assurance checks for data submitted by school districts.


Skill in: presenting information to groups or individuals in oral or written form; problem solving; prioritizing; goal setting; conflict resolution.
