Beverly Bank & Trust is seeking a Credit Manager to assist in the underwriting and management of the commercial real estate and business banking loan portfolios. This role will report to the Chief Credit Officer and will materially contribute to the continued growth and oversight of the portfolios.
What You’ll Do
Lead a team of credit analysts and manage the overall underwriting process to ensure all parties have a clear understanding of their respective responsibilities and all transactions are fully underwritten with accuracy and according to policy, risks are identified and mitigated with appropriate risk rating, and structure is appropriate to govern the risk profile of the credit prior to submission for approval
Attend client/prospect meetings with RM as part of deal team to develop understanding of borrower’s request, gather information needed to underwrite the transaction and mitigate key risks
Manage annual review process, quarterly construction reviews, covenant testing, and exception reporting ensuring timely completion
Lead workflow meetings with analysts to ensure prioritization of assignments; assign tasks to credit analysts, develop timeline, and identify necessary level of credit approval
Communicate with Lenders/Division Heads and CCO to manage expectations related to tasks and timing
Train and mentor credit analysts by auditing work products and providing feedback, while contributing to the development of employees through one-on-one interactions, and active career planning and mentorship
Other Credit Administrative duties including completion of reports for Credit and Senior management and assistance with internal and external loan review exams
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related area of study
Minimum 5 years’ direct experience underwriting commercial real estate and C&I transactions with the ability to identify and mitigate key risks
Excellent verbal and written communications skills along with strong analytical, organizational and time management skills
A desire to contribute to the training and development of underwriters and the bank’s rotational credit analysts
Strong interest in pursuing a career path through the bank’s credit department
