Instructional Designer



The incumbent will be responsible for higher-level tasks related to the maintenance and development of University computing systems, networks, services and resources. Tasks could include, but are not limited to in-depth analysis of systems, Implementation of new systems, serving in project manager roles, and evaluating and determining standards for hardware.

The School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences seeks an experienced instructional designer who will support credit-bearing and continuing education online and hybrid programs within the Office of Online Learning. This position requires a combination of skills within the field of instructional design.

The incumbent will work with the Executive Director of the Office of Online Learning and the Executive Director of Continuing Education to develop high quality online and hybrid programs. This individual will consult with faculty and external stakeholders about course design and the development of materials for online and hybrid delivery, analyze current online teaching practices, and provide recommendations on teaching strategies and evaluation to improve learning experiences. Working with subject matter experts, they will create course development plans, edit course materials, and select appropriate technologies for course development and teaching.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of relevant experience in online learning and program development. Knowledge of copyright and accessibility law compliance is expected. Necessary skills include a working knowledge of learning management systems, strong understanding of Web conferencing and other multimedia tools, and a high-level of interpersonal aptitude.


A bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5-years of experience are required for this position.
