Position Purpose/Summary

The Facilities Technician Worker is committed to providing the highest quality service to the communities we serve and is dedicated to fulfilling our customers’ needs by offering the latest in technological advances allowing them to keep pace with the growing demands of a global economy. The Facilities Technician II Worker will perform a wide variety of tasks requiring skills in the building trades, including carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, and work with the facilities department. The Facilities Technician II Worker is generally responsible for knowledge of all yard and maintenance equipment, plumbing systems, water treatment/filtration systems, closed loop hot water and boiler systems, electrical systems, generators, and HVAC systems.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

1. Maintain yards, remote sites and terminals.
2. Builds, assembles, installs and or repairs facility furnishings and fixtures.
3. Inspects, installs, troubleshoots and repairs basic and advanced plumbing fixtures.
4. Inspects, installs, troubleshoots and repairs basic electrical fixtures and systems. Includes changing ballasts and bulbs.
5. Inspects, installs, troubleshoots and repairs closed loop hot water, boiler and fintube systems.
6. Inspects, installs, troubleshoots and repairs water treatment/filtration systems.
7. Assures safety standards are used that comply with company, local, state and federal guidelines.
8. Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities, & Skills for Success

1. Knowledge of basic yard equipment and maintenance equipment.
2. Knowledge of plumbing systems.
3. Knowledge of water treatment/filtration systems.
4. Knowledge of closed loop and boiler systems.
5. Knowledge of electrical systems.
6. Knowledge of HVAC systems.
7. Basic knowledge of generator systems.
8. Troubleshooting of all above systems and equipment.
9. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
10. Ability to embrace change in the workplace and the ability to function effectively as a team player.
11. Ability to work a flexible work schedule, as needed, to best serve our customers.

Qualifications

Must have a minimum of 4 years previous work experience (more than 4 years preferred)

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Must have the ability to pull a small and large utility trailer with equipment and a large enclosed trailer.

Ability to be on call for afterhours emergencies.

Working Conditions

Work in indoor/outdoor mechanical spaces with high noise levels using proper safety equipment.

Work in an outdoor environment in the summer, exposed to elements.
