Summary of Position:

The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing data pipelines and infrastructure, particularly in the context of Salesforce CRM. The candidate will support the bulk data import/export processes, ensure data integrity, and integrate external data systems with Salesforce. This position requires experience in cloud-based environments, API integrations, and a working knowledge of Salesforce tools and architecture.

Essential Functions:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support large-scale data operations in Salesforce CRM.
  • Evaluate current data systems and recommend improvements to support Salesforce's performance, scalability, and integration requirements.
  • Utilize Salesforce tools like Data Loader and Bulk API for efficient data migration and import/export processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, particularly around Salesforce data handling and integration needs.
  • Implement best practices for data cleansing, transformation, and migration within the Salesforce ecosystem.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior team members.
  • Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with federal standards.

Job Specifications/Requirements:

  • Proficiency in data pipeline tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, Databricks).
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their data services.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM tools such as Data Loader, Bulk API, and Data Import Wizard.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce data structures, including standard and custom objects, to ensure smooth integration and data handling.

Education and Experience Requirement:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience Requirement: At least four (4) years of technical experience in data engineering or a related field.
  • Alternative Experience: In lieu of a degree, four additional years of relevant field-related experience (total of 8 years).
