The Senior Research Analyst is responsible for leading the development and maintenance of advanced Tableau dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to the business. This role requires a deep understanding of data visualization best practices and the ability to translate complex data sets into clear and compelling visual stories.
Job Summary Responsibilities: The Sr. Research Analyst will be required to do the following:
Engage in a consultative partnership with business departments to deliver dashboard solutions - mapping data inputs, presenting information visually, and automating processes
Work with the business partners (e.g. Finance, Clinical, Operations etc.) to understand their requirements and how to present information to both executives and analysts
Query data, validate results, and reconcile against other sources when necessary; conduct reasonability testing
Provide training and support to Tableau users across the organization to enhance their understanding and utilization of the tool
Stay current with the latest Tableau features and best practices, and incorporate them into existing and future projects
Optimize performance of dashboards for efficient and reliable access to data
Understand business processes and flows as related to sourcing and consuming data; participate in data governance meetings to keep apprised of new data elements, updated logic, and any issues within the data warehouse
Identify areas for reporting consolidation, automation, and self-service opportunities
Perform other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics, Health Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
5+ years’ analytical work experience
Advanced experience with data visualization and analytics tools
Demonstrated expertise in Tableau (including Prep) and SQL, including experience with complex data models
Technical experience and data management skills including data development, data extraction, transformation, QA, and analytic skills working with large datasets
Ability to present complex information in a way that is easy to understand
A portfolio showcasing previous dashboard work is highly desirable, for example, on Tableau Public
Ability to work independently and as part of a group
Highly organized with close attention to detail
Ability to document work for auditing purposes
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment under time constraints
Experience working in health insurance preferred
Advanced experience with Power BI is a plus

Independence has implemented a “Hybrid” model which consists of Associates working in the office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) and remotely 2 days a week (Monday & Friday). This role is designated as a role that fits into the “Hybrid” model. While associates may work remotely on our designated remote days, the work must be performed in the Tri-State Area of Delaware, New Jersey or Pennsylvania.
