Job Description:

Primary Function: 


Under general supervision, conducts environmental permitting activities, including but not limited to preparing, processing, and/or providing support documentation for Federal, State, and local government environmental permit applications. Performs as a fully qualified professional proficient in the use and application of scientific principles, theories, practices and company standards in their discipline. Assignments may also involve GPS data collection and application of computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite, CAD, and GIS.


Primary Duties:


• Performs site visits to conduct wetland delineations, field observations, listed species surveys, critical habitat evaluations and collect other field data.
• Assists in the collection and analysis of data from sampling, reports, maps, drawings, tests and aerial photographs to evaluation, plan and permit projects.
• Prepares documentation and applications relating to Statewide Environmental Resource Permits, Federal 404 permitting, and local government permitting.
• May serve as team leader in small projects.
• May assist more senior scientists/engineers on large, more complex projects.
• May serve as team member or lead in meetings and communications with clients, other project professionals, and regulatory agency staff pertaining to specific       projects/tasks.


Education and Experience Requirements:


Normally requires a 4-year degree in biology, environmental science, geology or related science and typically 3-5 years’ related experience, or a Master’s degree and 2 years’ experience. This includes considerable experience in conducting wetland delineations, seasonal high water level determinations, listed species surveys, state and federal wetland permitting as well as utilizing technical software and computers related to the discipline. Authorized Gopher Tortoise Agent,
Professional Wetland Scientist, and/or Certified Professional Soil Scientist is preferred.
