Federal Reserve Bank of ChicagoYou will be responsible for pitching and coordinating media interviews for the President of the Chicago Fed in line with the organization’s key communications and outreach goals. You will focus on identifying and securing optimal opportunities for media engagement to help inform and educate the public while growing the reputation of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. The level of work required is considered intermediate. This job has no direct reports.
Your Responsibilities:
Conduct outreach and coordination of Presidential interviews with national, regional, local, media outlets
Identify new opportunities for media engagement through non-traditional channels, including YouTube, social streaming, podcasts and other mediums
Monitor, compile and analyze media activities; evaluate and determine target audiences
Vet incoming media requests to evaluate opportunity and reputational risk
Develop prep materials for and staff interviews done by Chicago Fed President and other experts
Monitor media and identify emerging themes and storylines, as well as new contacts and outlets
Cultivate relationships with news media; respond to requests for interviews
Create media lists using Meltwater and other tools
Develop new processes and workflows to increase efficiency, time of response, and internal feedback
Assess and advise on best practices for emerging media
As needed, develop talking points on key messages and hot button issues
Your Background:
Bachelor's Degree or work equivalent in public relations, communications, journalism, digital marketing or related communications field
5 to 7 years of related experience
Experience securing national, state and local media interviews, as well as non-traditional media opportunities
Executive communications experience
Experience with copy editing, working with Associated Press Style
Excellent relationship building and project management skills
Resourceful and persistent with the ability to prioritize and maintain a sense of urgency and timeliness on projects and deadlines
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Collaborative, works well with others, and can thrive in a team environment

Additional Requirements:
This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of two days per week in office.
