Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Self-Contained Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs in a self-contained classroom setting. This role involves developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), collaborating with other educators and support staff, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Hours: 7:30-3:05


This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.


• Provide direct instruction in academic, social, and life skills areas.


• Adapt and modify curriculum and instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of students.


• Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and techniques to promote student engagement and learning.


• Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional methods accordingly.


• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to student education.


• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and progress.


• Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.


• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.


• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• LBS1/IL PE License


• Active Teaching License


• 
  


• Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.


• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special needs.
