Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Self-Contained Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs in a self-contained classroom setting. This role involves developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), collaborating with other educators and support staff, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Hours: 7:30-3:05
This job will have the following responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
Provide direct instruction in academic, social, and life skills areas.
Adapt and modify curriculum and instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and techniques to promote student engagement and learning.
Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional methods accordingly.
Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to student education.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and progress.
Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
Qualifications & Requirements:
LBS1/IL PE License
Active Teaching License
Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special needs.
