This role is eligible for OT and the Nucor Steel Production Bonus. Production employees are eligible for a weekly performance bonus based on performance of their departments and division.

Basic Job Functions:
The basic function of the Switch Operator is to facilitate the movement of the locomotive around the yard. This includes switching tracks, coupling and uncoupling railcars, flagging crossings, and protecting the point. Other functions include weighing railcars at the scale, completing the ticket for the railcar, and releasing railcars to BNSF.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
