Overview

This position will provide senior-level management of the research and contracts program in the Dept. of Neurology, with approximately 31 million in active grant awards. This position will collaborate with divison research PIs and research staff FTE. In collaboration with Neurology leadership, the position will be responsible for all administrative aspects of grant and contract preparation, management, close out, as well as expense reimbursement from grant accounts and all post-award grant accounting and financials. This position will also be the primary contact for clinical research oversight. This position provides high level, strategic recommendations to leadership for decision-making.



Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with major courses in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 6 years of progressively responsible experience in grant administration. In the absence of a degree, 3 additional years of grant management experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Knowledge of grant preparation and administration with experience in an academic medical center in the areas of both clinical and basic science.
  • Excellent writing and communications skills required.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills, basic knowledge of financial systems and of computer use.
  • Skills in word processing, graphics, and database including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel,), and Adobe Acrobat, required.
  • Able to adapt to ever changing technology.
  • Businesslike, excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with personnel at all levels.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to successfully manage and meet deadlines.


Qualifications



  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Oracle, Cognos systems knowledge and experience preferred.
