POSITION SUMMARY:


The Lead Network Operation Controller (Lead Ops Controller) will report to the Manager, Network Ops Control and play a key role in assisting the commercial and operational teams with planning, modifying and executing flight schedules. The Lead Network Ops Controller will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating communication with online stations and customers. This role will also have responsibilities with generating reports, training and the oversight of the Network Ops Controllers. The role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (includes but not limited to)


Lead Network Ops Controller Primary Duties:




  • Perform all duties of a Network Ops Controller.

  • Develop and maintain the airline's flight schedule, ensuring optimal utilization of aircraft and resources while meeting customer demand and requests.

  • Monitor and adjust flight schedules to optimize efficiency and minimize operational disruptions.

  • Ensures cargo loads are managed properly and directed to the correct locations in the most efficient and cost beneficial manner possible.

  • Coordinate with other departments, including members of the OCC, Commercial and Ground Ops, to ensure smooth and efficient flight operations.

  • Review and analyze flight data to identify areas for improvement in scheduling and resource utilization.

  • Create and complete any required reporting of flight or freight information to various departments and leaders within the company.

  • Verify flights in Smart Kargo with the appropriate reports and load sheet.

  • Review and update daily turnovers with details and explanations when delays are experienced.

  • Ensure movements in Smart Kargo are being sent and captured correctly.

  • Other duties as assigned.



Charter Control:




  • Act as the Charter Control Tower coordinating all activities related to charter flight operations. This includes the planning, coordination, progress, and post-flight requirements.

  • Liaise with all stakeholders including but not limited to: OCC, Permitting, Crew Scheduling, Tech Ops, Flight Ops, Ground Ops, Warehouse Operations, Load Masters, Commercial & Charter Sales.

  • Execute charter flight schedules in coordination with charter customers and sales teams.

  • Ensure aircraft and resources are allocated efficiently.



Customer Service:




  • Monitor customer feedback and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction are maintained.

  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding flight schedules and any changes or disruptions.



Handling Irregular Operations:




  • Work closely with the OCC to monitor and manage flight disruptions and cancellations.

  • Collaborate with the OCC to develop contingency plans for operational disruptions, with a customer focus in delivering product in a safe, timely and efficient manner.

  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding cancellations and providing available solutions or recommendations.

  • Ensure all customer needs and concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.



Additional Lead Duties




  • Generate and update Load Factor, Payload/Route Analysis and other reports for commercial and flight operations.

  • Act as main point of contact for customers and during charter operations.

  • Facilitate and execute charter checklists and drive all charter operations.

  • Drive overall Network Ops to ensure flight schedules, performance, schedule changes, requests, airport operations, OCC and all items are executed to completion.

  • Make key decisions for business and evaluate impacts to schedules and customers.



  • Assist and participate in meetings and represent the team in the absence of the Manager, Network Ops Control.

  • Communicate and lead the Network Ops team in conjunction with the Manager, Network Ops Control and the Director of OCC.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:




  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • 1-year experience in airline operations or related field.

  • AIMS and/or Smart Kargo experience preferred.

  • Must have strong analytical skills.

  • Preferred experience with MS Office products, Teams, Excel, Word, etc.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.



  • Ability to work in interdepartmental team settings.

  • Ability to multi-task, coordinate schedules and drive operations under high pressure situations.



PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:


Work Environment


This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. Incumbents may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday.


Physical Demands


This is largely a sedentary role and requires being able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time. Occasionally, the person in this position is required to move/traverse inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. The person in this position regularly communicates with others in person, by phone, or through correspondence.


LANGUAGE SMART KARGOILLS:


The employee must possess strong interpersonal and communications Smart Kargoills, be able to effectively present information, respond to questions from managers, employees, vendors, and the general public, and proficiently write reports and business correspondence.
