Location: Skillman NJ (moving to Summit NJ in 2025).
Travel %: 10%
Pay: $152,000 - $205,000

What you will do
The Sr Mgr Threat Detection and Hunt is responsible for defending our systems and networks from cyber-attacks and ensuring our security posture remains robust by developing advanced threat detection techniques and strategies. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cyber security, an analytical mindset, and a strong technical background to develop and implement detection strategies to identify and mitigate threats.

Key Responsibilities


  • Develop, implement, and maintain advanced threat detection techniques and strategies.
  • Design, configure, and optimize security monitoring tools and systems to detect, analyze, and respond to security incidents.
  • Use threat intelligence platforms to stay updated on emerging threats and incorporate relevant findings into detection mechanisms.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of security events and incidents to determine their impact, root cause, and appropriate response actions.
  • Create and fine-tune detection rules, signatures, and alerts to improve the accuracy and efficiency of threat detection.
  • Build out a security program to evaluate technical/physical security to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation measures.
  • Work closely with incident response teams to support and improve incident handling processes.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for detection processes, configurations, and incident response procedures.
  • Provide expertise and guidance to other teams on best practices for security monitoring and threat detection.
  • Participate in security audits and compliance efforts as needed.

What we are looking for
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 8 years of experience in cyber security, with a focus on threat detection and incident response.
  • Proficiency with security monitoring tools and technologies such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, IDS/IPS (Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems), EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response), and SOAR (Security Orchestration and Response) solutions.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and security architectures.
  • Familiarity with threat intelligence sources and frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, GCIH, or similar are preferred.
  • Experience with scripting and automation using languages such as Python, or PowerShell.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security threats.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Enthusiasm for staying current with the latest trends and developments in cyber security.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong ability to lead and train a team.

What's in it for you
Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $152,000 - $205,000. This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate's skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
