Schneider Electric USA, Inc. seeks an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer, Automation & IT in Franklin, TN.

Job Description: Deliver automation and technology improvements to manufacturing processes across the North American Region. Use advanced technology, be responsible for identifying and driving improvements and capacity of existing assembly and testing equipment or processes. Responsible for the design and development of new assembly lines and testers. Create detailed technical specifications for the equipment, process or production line including the automation standards, safety and best available technologies using lean manufacturing principles. Design a new process by using the line architecture design methodology, considering key points such as demand, flow, Material handling, layout, Lean manufacturing, KPI's and Industrial strategy. Develop PLC code for new equipment, being capable of writing the code for a high-speed automation machine, including components such as servo drives, sensors, or cylinders. Read and design electrical and mechanical diagrams for automated equipment. Position eligible for up to 2 days remote work per week. Position requires 45% travel (20% domestic, 25% international) to company sites and automation suppliers to support projects throughout North America.

Requirements: Position requires a Master's or Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronic Engineering, or related field and progressive, post-Bachelor's experience (3 years with Master's or 5 years with Bachelor's) in automation industry assembly line design and deployment, or related occupation, which must include at least some experience in the following skills: Creating detailed technical specifications for production line including automation standards, safety and best available technologies using lean manufacturing principles; Designing new processes by using the line architecture design methodology, considering demand, flow, material handling, layout, Lean manufacturing, KPI's and Industrial strategy; Developing PLC code for new equipment; Writing code for a high-speed automation machine, including components such as servo drives, sensors, and cylinders; Reading and designing electrical and mechanical diagrams for automated equipment; Managing projects, including prototype development, manufacturing support and return goods root cause analysis; and Developing in-house automation using Digital Technology, IIoT, Machine Learning, and Virtual Reality.
