OVERVIEW:

The Product Strategy Managing Director will lead a team focused on business development for the Express Scripts Pharmacy. This role is a critical and highly influential leadership role within the organization and is vital in achieving the pharmacy's short- and long-term objectives, including sustained profitable growth, client and member retention and value-creation. This role is responsible for strategy and execution of the pharmacy's payer, patient, pharma, and prescriber strategy, pricing, communications, payer programs and overall go to market approach.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Ability to successfully lead in often ambiguous, complex situations and evolving federal and state regulated markets.

  • Enterprise thinker with proven ability to influence and challenge across a matrix environment to garner alignment or support, even in cases where conflicts in priorities arise. Ability to develop strong relationships across all levels of the organization, including MDs, GMs, SVPs, and senior leaders.

  • Experienced in leading enterprise efforts that challenge the status quo. Strong persuasion skills and an effective communicator. Has the ability to create and communicate a compelling vision internally and externally. Possesses strong self- awareness and curiosity

  • Ability to think strategically, anticipate future consequences and trends, incorporate them into both a short-term and long-term organizational plan.

  • Have breadth and depth of knowledge in pharmacy, PBM, Supply Chain and broader Cigna value-creation levers.

  • Strong P&L acumen and pricing/underwriting strategies.

  • Strong analytical and insight-driven problem-solving skills with ability to address business challenges and drive business growth and innovation.

  • Strong strategy and execution focus, has a bottom-line orientation and a demonstrated track record of driving desired outcomes and meeting/exceeding.

  • Adaptable, nimble and demonstrated record of leading and developing high-performing teams amidst expense-focused climate.

  • Deep expertise on market opportunities, buyer needs across divisions/line of business, e.g. Employer markets, Coalitions, Public Sector, Labor, Health Systems, Wholesale Markets, Federal, DOD, Cigna Commercial, Cigna Med D, Centene, and Prime; competitive dynamics, and various sales cycle to develop and execute against a multi-year business strategy Serves as proxy for VP GM of Express Scripts Pharmacy, on critical matters that require decision-making and prioritization involving the pharmacy.

REQUIRED SKILLS:


  • 12-16 years relevant experience with 10+ years of progressive leadership experience preferred.

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is required. Advanced Degree or MBA desirable.

  • Ability to effectively lead teams and optimize talent management.

  • Strong financial, process and analytics acumen.

  • Demonstrated thought leadership on challenging problems with examples of implementing innovative solutions and driving outstanding results.

  • Enterprise thinker with proven ability to influence across a matrix environment. Ability to develop relationships across all levels of the organization, as well as externally.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence others and utilize resources to drive success and execute tasks that enable the vision and strategy.

  • Executive presence with strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

  • Comfortable dealing with and managing an ever changing, highly competitive industry/environment.

  • Proven ability to identify opportunities for optimization and driving change within an organization to align projects to achieve the overall business objectives.

  • Ability to work in ambiguous or new situations by demonstrating a structured approach to diagnosing the problem, analyzing alternatives, recommending and implementing best solutions.
