Role 


The Category Manager position is responsible for all spend analysis and strategic sourcing initiatives in their assigned category as determined by their supervisor. This includes the development and implementation of sourcing strategies and initiatives to drive significant improvement in cost, quality and availability in a manner consistent with Crown Castle values.


 


Responsibilities 



  • Support all Supply Chain programs including supplier engagement as well as process improvements

  • Lead spend, contract, and market analysis for Indirect categories with internal stakeholders

  • Conduct RFX events, negotiate pricing, prepare bid analysis, present sourcing recommendations to leadership

  • Manage, review, and negotiate all new and existing contracts (in conjunction with legal and enterprise security), suppliers, and deliver performance results

  • Ensure compliance with company, legal, enterprise security and other requirements

  • Oversee and manage supplier initiatives for continuous improvement

  • Execute strategic sourcing strategies for the Indirect category

  • Drive stakeholder alignment by communicating effectively with partners on key objectives

  • Develop partnerships with all cross-functional areas including various Corporate Business functions, Legal, and Supply Chain

  • Identify new opportunities and drive results in support of cost savings goals

  • Drive risk management and business continuity planning with internal stakeholders

  • Use Supply Chain best practices when developing and implementing process improvements or system controls

  • Lead change management when establishing new sourcing programs and drive on-going evaluations to ensure savings, supply, and quality

  • Utilize sourcing software to conduct sourcing events and implement contract agreements in accordance with Crown Castle policies.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts

  • Good financial acumen

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build and maintain trusting relationships

  • Understanding of the data sets that can be pulled from the system for reporting purposes

  • Ability to meet project deadlines and manage resources accordingly

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Strong organization and prioritization skills

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Able to manage 10% travel (as needed)


 


Education/Certifications   



  • Bachelor’s Degree


 


Experience/Minimum Requirements   



  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Supply Chain, Legal or related field

  • Telecom experience preferred

  • Coupa experience preferred

  • Managing Indirect categories such as temp labor, consulting services, utilities, facility services, travel, fleet, logistics, marketing, benefits, legal, software, and hardware

Working Conditions: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in the office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.  On Mondays and Fridays, teammates on the hybrid schedule will have the option to work from the office or home.  There is an expectation of collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter that could require travel.
