SUMMARY



The Cybersecurity Advisor, DC will conduct comprehensive assessments of cybersecurity practices and strategies, ensuring the security and protection of critical information systems and data. Plays a crucial role in identifying vulnerabilities, recommending improvements, and translating technical findings into clear and actionable insights for the government. This position is temporary for six months.


As a federal contractor, CNI is a drug-free workplace and adheres to the Federal Controlled Substance Act.



ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS



Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.



KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Conducts in-depth reviews of cybersecurity assessments conducted by other government contractors.


Evaluates assessment reports to identify areas of strength and potential vulnerabilities or gaps.


Provides expert analysis of cybersecurity controls and their effectiveness.


Reviews and advises on the strategic deployment and utilization of cybersecurity assets.


Makes informed recommendations on how to best protect information systems and data.


Collaborates with project teams to ensure cybersecurity measures align with organizational goals.


Identifies potential flaws or areas for improvement in cybersecurity strategies and recommendations.


Suggests enhancements to ensure robust and effective security measures.


Works closely with project teams to implement recommended improvements.


Interprets complex cybersecurity reports and translate technical jargon into clear, layman's terms.


Creates concise, understandable written assessments for government stakeholders.


Prepares reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations effectively.


Collaborates with the government Project Manager and other stakeholders to align cybersecurity efforts with project objectives.


Provides regular updates and reports on assessment findings, improvements, and recommendations.


Ensures timely communication of critical cybersecurity information.


Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.


Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security or a related field and a minimum of five (5) years' relevant experience. Master's degree preferred.

Knowledgeable of security-related processes with respect to Federal risk and compliance regulations best practices.
Ability to read, analyze, develop and interpret common information systems security documents.
Excellent critical thinking skills with ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems / complex issues.
Ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment for the successful achievement of goals.



LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.



REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.

The pay range for this role is $121K - $160K. This salary range is representative of the various ranges found within the professional sector across the United States, with the final offer amount dependent on location, skillset, and experience.
