A Brief Overview

We are looking for a reliable, dynamic, hands-on, self-starter Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability, Automation (EMRA) Manager to oversee all installation, repair and upkeep operations of the company's facilities, machinery and equipment. You will be the one to ensure that your colleagues have the best physical resources available to complete their duties according to budget. A great EMRA Manager will have a solid understanding of facilities, machinery and electrical systems, boilers, machine shop operations, as well as other crafts. They will be well-versed in all maintenance processes and health and safety regulations. They will excel in creative solution implementations and have a mindset of continuous improvement. What you will do


  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods to improve overall facility and equipment reliability and performance.

  • Manage (and may conceptualize) capital improvement projects, consult outside experts, and prepare CAPEX documents for approval, in support of safety, environmental, regulatory, cGMP, and productivity initiatives or requirements, and track progress and expenditures.

  • Oversee and direct new equipment installations and equipment modifications.

  • Manage and develop department budget including operating requirements, in addition to equipment and material purchases.

  • Manage relationships with contractors, service providers, and regulators.

  • Manage Maintenance and Engineering staff.

  • Streamline and improve efficiency of production and maintenance departments.

  • Achieve cost reduction and efficiency improvement through process improvement and work balancing as well as lean principles.

  • Ensure training and development of employees.

  • Duties may vary slightly by location.


Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering ideal (Required)


Experience Qualifications


  • 10+ years of experience in packaging and production systems and/or automated manufacturing systems in food/beverage, pharmaceutical, or consumer products industry. (Required)

  • 4-6 years of supervisory and/or management experience (Required)


Skills and Abilities


  • Experienced Project Manager Leader in full scope from conception through completion among competing technologies that are suitable for solving batching, filling, packaging and utility system issues (High proficiency)

  • Thorough working knowledge of consumer goods (liquid, personal care) processing and packaging technology is preferred (High proficiency)

  • Solid understanding of the fundamentals of electrical PLC components and technical aspects of electrical systems. Certification will be advantageous (High proficiency)

  • Experience in planning maintenance operations and utilizing CMMS is a must (High proficiency)

  • Must have experience with building and utility system design and operation including water and wastewater (High proficiency)

  • Must have a solid understanding of boilers, machine shop, and facility equipment operation (High proficiency)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (High proficiency)

  • Must be an effective manager and trainer of people (High proficiency)

  • Proficient use of MS Office and project management software. AutoCAD experience is a plus (High proficiency)

  • Bilingual capability (English/Spanish) is a plus (High proficiency)

  • Valid Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) certification will be a plus (Medium proficiency)

  • Ability to work efficiently under tight timelines and achieve results, while maintaining high quality (High proficiency)

  • Outstanding organizations, teamwork, customer service and leadership skills (High proficiency)


Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Maintenance Professional (CMP)-IMI (Preferred)
