Basic Purpose:



Joins metal components together using a predetermined weld process.



Primary Accountabilities:

• Welds metal parts together in various positions per the weld process specifications.

• Performs welding on a wide variety of metals and alloys, as required on WPS and setup specs.

• Calculate and measure the dimensions of parts to be welded.

• Welds weldments where alignments, dimensional, and weld quality must conform to size, location and type requirements.

• Uses weld fixtures, gauges, and jigs.

• Monitor welding process and adjust heat as needed.

• Maintains welding equipment and machinery.

• Assess the quality of welds and identify flaws.

• Inspects parts using precision measuring equipment and documents inspection data.

• Must inspect weld surfaces and metal types for preparation of a quality weld.

• Must always follow safety and health procedures to avoid accident and hazards.

• Cleans and organizes work area.

• All other duties as assigned.
