Shipping & Receiving Level 1

OVERVIEW:

The Shipping & Receiving Associate Level 1 is responsible for facilitating the movement of materials within the Distribution Center, ensuring efficient receipt of raw materials and timely outbound shipments to meet customer demands. The primary focus is on maintaining safety, compliance with company policies, and operational excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety and Compliance:

• Prioritize safety in all tasks within the Distribution Center, with a strong emphasis on housekeeping standards.
• Comply with and uphold all company rules and policies regarding safety and operational procedures.

Material Handling:

• Operate forklifts to load and unload trucks, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials.
• Utilize warehouse management system (SAP) proficiently to perform system transactions accurately.

Packaging and Skidding:

• Build shipping boxes and skids as required, using hand tools as necessary.
• Ensure proper packaging and securing of items for shipment to prevent damage during transit.

Inventory Management:

• Safely and accurately handle items within the racking system, ensuring proper organization and accessibility.
• Conduct cycle counts periodically to maintain accurate inventory records.

Team Collaboration:

• Communicate effectively and collaborate with team members to accomplish tasks and meet operational goals.
• Work in a team environment to support the overall efficiency of the Distribution Center.

Housekeeping:

• Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized work environment, contributing to safety and efficiency.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Assist with other duties as requested by management to support the overall functioning of the Distribution Center.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Proficiency in computer usage.
• Experience in warehousing is advantageous.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
• Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and heights.
• Capable of standing, bending, and performing physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
