Job Description Summary

The Inpatient Attending Physician Position at Alexian Brothers provides a unique combination of inpatient and outpatient clinical experience. The successful candidate will rotate on a general inpatient service at Alexian Brothers Rehabilitation Hospital, a 56 bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital located in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. Alexian Brothers is one member of Shirley Ryan Abilitylab's Alliance network of hospitals providing rehabilitative care throughout the Chicagoland area.



Job Description



Responsibilities while on the inpatient service include performing initial admissions evaluations and daily medical management. In addition, physicians participate in on site outpatient clinics.


The successful candidate will join a cohesive and collaborative team of physicians committed to providing the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (SRAlab) standards of care. They will also be a member of the Shirley Ryan Abilitylab Alliance system of care and work collaboratively with physicians at all Alliance sites. As a member of the SRAlab Medica Staff the attending physician will have access to all financial and educational resources of the organization.

Reporting Relationships


Reports directly to the Program Medical Director or the Chief Medical Officer as appropriate


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

• Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Illinois.
  
  


• Successful completion of a residency program in physical medicine and rehabilitation and is Board certified or Board Eligible.
  
  


• Faculty appointment at Northwestern University Medical School.
  
  


• Excellent communications and interdisciplinary skills required, including proven ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, referring parties, SRAlab and other internal and external stakeholders.
  
  


• Working Conditions Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.
