Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our team at LES.

You will be designing and building data pipelines and implementing analytics solutions to enable better business outcomes for our customers. Your expertise will drive the design, development, and support of several business-critical applications and integrations. You will also assist with administration and configuration of our Microsoft Azure and SQL Server data environments including monitoring, performance tuning, and data security.

Your time will be spent working individually, engaging directly with users for support needs, and collaborating closely with other developers, system administrators, and business partners.

Essential Functions:


  • Architect comprehensive data solutions that align with business goals.

  • Design and construct data pipelines and integrations between on-premise and cloud-based systems.

  • Orchestrate data movement from multiple sources, transform as needed, make it available across different systems in a timely manner, and ensure that pipelines are monitored and performant.

  • Implement data storage solutions and manage secure data access and integrity through implementation of access controls, backups, and recovery plans.

  • Ensure data quality and consistency and implement data governance standards.

  • Develop data solutions utilizing third-party APIs, Visual Studio, .NET, PowerShell Scripting, Python, JavaScript, CI/CD, Data Visualization, SSIS, SSRS, and Git/Azure DevOps.

  • Execute disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure data availability during outages.

  • Support users and developers by resolving data-related technical issues and troubleshooting queries by guiding them with best practices.

Knowledge and Skills:


  • Expertise in both Microsoft Azure cloud and SQL Server on-premise environments.

  • Demonstrated experience designing data solutions and building data pipelines.

  • Seasoned in turning business use cases and requirements into technical solutions and business process mapping of data and analytics solutions.

  • Experienced in managing and optimizing data storage using Azure Data & Analytics Services, Data Factory, Data Lake, DataBricks, Cosmos DB, Synapse Analytics, PowerBI, and MS SQL Server.

  • Skilled with writing SQL scripts, stored procedures, creating SQL jobs, and optimizing queries.

  • Experience with Agile software development, tools, and best practices using the Microsoft stack.

  • Highly organized and superior analytical problem-solving abilities. Team-oriented, customer-focused, positive, committed to excellence, and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.

  • Strong knowledge and experience with providing help desk support, customer service practices, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.

Education and Experience:


  • 5+ years working and developing in the Microsoft technology stack.

  • 4+ years with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, SSIS, SSRS, XML, Relational Database Systems, Visual Studio, .NET, APIs, and DevOps practices.

  • 3+ years’ experience in business analytics, data modeling or data engineering work

  • Preferred degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Preferred knowledge includes Power Platform, MySQL, and Oracle.

Working Environment:

 


  • Position requires daily presence in our corporate offices (minimum 3 days is typical)
