Job Summary



The Assistant Director of Operations is a vital member of the Chicago Booth Admissions team. This role provides operational support for Booth's data and business systems and helps implement measurable, best-in-class enrollment and admissions processes across MBA and Master programs. The primary focus of the position will be on accurate and timely system workflow optimization, data integration/integrity, and daily management and analysis of admissions systems and technology solutions. The employee will work closely with various departments and leverage a variety of sources, particularly Slate, to enhance student/alumni engagement and enrollment strategies.



Responsibilities



  • Assists in the ongoing maintenance and implementation of Booth's enrollment management system (Slate); facilitates and executes quality control measures for data integrity, resolving issues as needed.

  • Develops and maintains system processes, manages technology and platform updates, anticipates challenges, and establishes best-in-class workflows and data infrastructure.

  • Helps manage data collection in Slate, including volunteer, prospective student, and applicant databases; manages technology and platform updates, anticipates challenges, and establishes best-in-class workflows and data infrastructure.

  • Uses current data fields and other data points to provide insights and recommendations that guide strategic efforts across the full life cycle of application processes.

  • Plays an integral role in dashboard development, status reports and population profiles, as well as ad hoc and year-over-year report analysis. Synthesizes data across multiple platforms.

  • Serves as an internal support for developing queries, reports, surveys, and best practices in Slate; identifies opportunities for improving system processes and workflows, implementing best practices to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Manages small-scale projects related to Slate and other admissions systems/functions, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders; develops, maintains, and supports customized processes for candidates and internal audiences.

  • Documents processes, policies, and procedures, ensuring consistency and compliance across the organization; provides detailed guides and training materials to support staff.

  • Works closely with other Slate experts and departments to support data initiatives and ensure cohesive operations across Booth.

  • With moderate direction from others, analyzes the users' requirements and solves routine database problems that ensures users and related applications can access necessary data sets.

  • Participates in the development of queries and retrieval systems.

  • Performs other related work as needed.




Minimum Qualifications




Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Coursework in information systems, business administration, or related fields.




Experience:



  • At least two years of related experience in operations support or system administration.




Technical Skills or Knowledge:



  • Demonstrated proficiency in SQL and advanced excel skills.

  • Coding fluency in Javascript, XSLT, HTML, and Tableau.

  • Understanding of structured (CRM) database and spreadsheets software.

  • Knowledge of Technolution's Slate enrollment management system (or similar student information system).

  • Proficiency in synthesizing data and providing actionable insights/recommendations.

  • Strong skills in all areas of Windows, Microsoft Outlook and Office.
