Position: Senior Manager, Technology Operations
Location: 165 Dascomb Road, Andover, MA 01810
Duties: Collect inputs and specifications from the engineering team for engineering equipment. Interview production and engineering personnel and read other forms of publications, such as engineering specification documents or journals, to familiarize oneself with production technologies and methods. Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, CAD models, and bills of material to create various technical documents. Attend project review meetings with Product Development Teams. Proactively solicit information from subject matter experts to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication. Create training curriculums, and templates. Draft, revise, publish, and maintain product documentation, including operator manuals, installation and service manuals, service procedures, manufacturing instructions, and training guidelines. Edit technical publications using authoring and illustration tools such as Adobe Technical Communication Suite, Help & Manual, Microsoft Word, and SharePoint. Edit, standardize, or make changes to training materials prepared by others. Perform quality checks of Technical Publications. Manage schedules for delivering product documentation. Release technical publications with best change control practices. Manage the organization's learning management system. Manage Technical Documentation projects. Perform online hosting and maintenance tasks for the technical documentation portal. Use product life cycle management tools for effective change management. Contribute to process improvement and quality assurance practices. Supervise twelve (12) employees (7 Analyst(s) II, Technology Operations, 1 Analyst III, Technology Operations, and 4 Senior Technology Operations).
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (Any), Business, Information Systems, Project/Program Management, Information Technology, Finance, Management (any), or related area and 5 years of experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area; OR Master's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (Any), Business, Information Systems, Project/Program Management, Information Technology, Finance, Management (any), or related area and 3 years of experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.
Skills required: Experience creating technical documentation and training content. Experience collecting inputs and specifications from Subject Matter Experts. Experience researching and analyzing engineering literature to extract relevant information for the end user. Experience executing technical writing to convey complex technical information in simple terminology. Experience using CAD software to analyze engineering models and bills of material. Experience creating technical publications using single sourcing software, including the Adobe Technical Communication suite. Experience creating training materials using Articulate Storyline e-learning software. Experience creating technical illustrations using graphics editing software, including Adobe Photoshop. Experience with Learning Management System administration and management. Experience hosting online documentation using web development skills. Experience with project management. Experience proofreading and executing quality checks of technical documentation to ensure the quality of deliverables. Experience using product life cycle management tools for change management. Experience leading a team of technical writers and technical illustrators. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
