Job Description:

Position can be based out of any Maxim Crane Works location: Must be able to support West coast hours.

Purpose:

Reporting to the VP of Procurement, the Regional Buyer is responsible for purchasing in their designated region(s)

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Researches and coordinates with existing vendors providing parts and supplies to the company, including availability of goods, prices, deliveries, discounts and changes in supplies, materials, and equipment offered for sale
* Monitor system operations and identifies out-of-parameter delivery, review problems and associated information, and develop and implement corrective actions
* Assists with corporate initiatives to streamline vendor count and utilize national accounts
* Coordinates the purchase of parts and services for multiple branches within a given region(s).
* Provides oversight for fulfillment and purchasing programs in shops with inventory management
* Maintains purchase order system in various systems (i.e. JDEdwards, RentalMan, etc.)
* Conducts inventory counts in shops with service staff
* Assists in the training and development of staff and management in purchasing area, including training branch shop clerks to issue requisitions
* Maintains records and prepare purchasing reports
* Uphold Maxim’s safety standards
* Effectively communicate with various teams across the organization, including Maxim locations, suppliers and internal employees
* Perform other related duties as assigned or required

Requirements:

Education:

* High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certification

Experience:

* 2+ years previous purchasing/ fulfillment experience.
* 2+ years’ experience with Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) similar to RentalMan and JD Edwards

Required:

* Must be able to support West coast hours.

Skills/Knowledge:

* Basic knowledge of industrial or transportation industry buying and fulfillment
* Intermediate understanding of CMMS similar to JD Edwards and RentalMan systems

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
