Nemours is seeking an Operations Project Manager (Full-Time), to join our Nemours team in Orlando, Florida.

Located in Orlando, Fla., Nemours Children's Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated healthcare system. Our 130-bed pediatric hospital also features the area's only 24-hour Emergency Department designed just for kids as well as outpatient pediatric clinics including several specialties previously unavailable in the region. A hospital designed by families for families, Nemours Children's Hospital blends the healing power of nature with the latest in healthcare innovation to deliver world-class care to the children of Central Florida and beyond. In keeping with our goal of bringing Nemours care into the communities we serve; we also provide specialty outpatient care in several clinics located throughout the state.

This position will manage a wide range of construction and capital expansion projects and manage complex projects working independently with little or no supervision from an operational lens. This role coordinates with senior executives, physician leaders, operational leaders, and plant and facilities leaders. This individual will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and controlling projects and advancing strategic initiatives to meet the identified business case and performance objectives. Demonstrating the ability to analyze, integrate, recommend, contribute cross-functionally is key This individual proactively identifies issues, risks, barriers and challenges, and clearly thinks through, and communicates potential solutions for resolution. Handles a wide variety of situations requiring knowledge of the overall functions of all areas of responsibility with tact and confidentiality. Position requires the ability and skills to write and edit highly professional documents that are commensurate with those written by a senior executive. Requires strong verbal skills and the ability and confidence to have speaking roles in meetings with senior leaders from within and outside of Nemours. Requires insight and sophistication to manage multiple conflicting priorities and independently determine the best sequencing and cadence of activities.

  • Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Has a passion about solving problems and recommending solutions.
  • Ability to learn quickly, apply knowledge to activities and continuously improve. Builds and works to maintain positive relationships at all levels across Nemours.
  • Effectively manages all project phases with accountability for multiple deliverables. Defines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan.
  • Creates and utilizes the appropriate tools and techniques to ensure Executive sponsors and project stakeholders are appropriately engaged and informed about the project's status, issues, risks, barriers and/or challenges. Uses the established escalation mechanisms to identify, document, and seek resolution on major issues and risks, along with a willingness to go above and beyond to resolve issues.
  • Works well with project team members and functional leaders to define work packages, estimate effort, determine resource capacity, and establish consensus on project activities.
  • Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, as may be assigned from time to time by employee's supervisor.


Performance Skills

  • Basic knowledge of design and construction process for complex healthcare projects
  • Ability to work with department clients and end-users in developing the scope of their project and managing their expectations through the entire development process.
  • Demonstrated ability to tactfully and effectively communicate (written and verbal) with a variety of individuals.
  • Ability to prioritize office workflow and make effective administrative decisions to increase efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and priorities.
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office applications to create and compile documents, reports, graphs/charts, and presentations.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience required.
  • Travel within the Central Florida Region is required.
