Job Description:

Nemours is seeking a Training Specialist II (Primary Care - Lake Nona), FULL-TIME, to join our Primary Care team in Orlando, Florida.

Nemours primary care practices provide a kid-friendly, family-centered pediatric primary care experience for families in Central Florida. With 20 primary care and three urgent care practices conveniently located throughout the region, we provide quality, professional pediatric services with special attention on preventive care and whole-child wellness.

This position is responsible for: The development of new curriculum, coordination, and facilitation of various training programs/workshops for Nemours associates. This role is also responsible for providing support to others as they develop training for their work groups. The Training Specialist will work closely with operational leaders throughout the revenue cycle to identify educational opportunities and create role specific competencies. This person will develop, and support learning modules delivered in a variety of formats including in-class instruction and e-learning.


  • Identify and train, in conjunction with management, the knowledge and skills required for associates to perform their job requirements.
  • Assess the need for training and retraining using proven and reliable methods, including job/task analysis and standard work confirmations.
  • Develop course objectives, content and materials including participant manuals and detailed/annotated facilitator guides; assuring that adult learning principles are used throughout the organization.
  • Create regular competency exams for all access areas to ensure associates are following standard workflows and utilizing current resources.
  • Assist others in the development of workshops/classes taught in their departments.
  • Develop workshop evaluation systems including session evaluations and post session assessments that measure on the job changes. Conduct, summarize, and report measures of training effectiveness.
  • Conduct frequent site visits to monitor adherence to standards and provide on-going support.
  • Communicate all EPIC upgrade and enhancements in a timely manner and provide training when applicable.
  • Attend and participate in EPIC Application taskforces and Revenue Cycle Super User.
  • Provide support to Continuous Improvement initiatives by assisting with the development of training materials for CI events in Florida.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum of five (5)+ years of experience required.
  • Training/classroom experience.
  • Medical group practice experience.
  • EPIC application preferred.
  • Travel required to other locations as needed.
